Jewelery Designers Aim For Movie Fame

Jewellery Designers Develop Wonderful Items For The Silver Screen

Jewellery designers have already been invited to submit pieces of costume jewellery they have perhaps devised for the film industry. Amazing necklaces, bracelets and tiaras that have had their very own starring role and adorned famous film stars are going to be sought. Of course the sparkling assortment of glitter and bling for the films are paste as opposed to diamonds, but they produce a good show.

Items by jewellery designers for films are going to be exhibited at the Jewellery on Screen event at Somerset House on The Strand in London next June as part of London Jewellery Week. The show has got Orkney jewellery designers contemplating how some of our traditional collections ranging from mens Celtic rings to modern style jewellery could be just ideal for the movie industry.

The Tudor range, for example, influenced by the precious stones and luxurious decoration of the period, is a classic style for films about Elizabeth I featuring Cate Blanchet or Helen Mirren. And our Louise ring might actually decorate the finger of her namesake in Thelma and Louise, played by Susan Sarandon.

Jewellery Designers in the Movies

One Orkney collection has Birdland necklaces, earrings, brooches and charms depicting birds flying across a northern sky. Daphne du Maurier’s novel, The Birds, however spawned a more frightening view of these creatures – not improved by a Hitchcock horror movie starring Tippi Hedren and Rod Taylor! The Heart series links with numerous famous films such as the newly released Crazy Heart with Jeff Bridges. But in addition to the romantic Heart there’s also Braveheart, who could love to wear a lot of the mens Celtic rings or our Sword kiltpin design and style.

Sword, obviously was a key element in numerous films about Arthur, Camelot and Merlin. The well-known Willow design possesses the same name as the quest film starring Val Kilmer and Joanne Walley and no one knows what Toad and his pals would make of it in Wind in the Willows.

The present-day piece True relates to many movies just like the kooky True Romance starring Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette or True Grit, the John Wayne or Jeff Bridges adaptation. And Chanticleer, based on the saga of a rooster and a fox, might well be a nice design and style for the Fantastic Mr Fox.

There are several more blockbusters on the market that we could provide types to match. Orkney might not yet be one of the centers for jewellery designers who provide pieces for Hollywood, but plenty of our choices are displayed by stars who love our fashion.

Who’d have thought that jewellery designers from the distant Orkney Islands off,the northern shoreline of Scotland would have a presence in Hollywood movies? Not merely the fairly obvious Celtic rings, but on http://www.olagoriejewellery.com you will find many more items having an orginal twist.
