AAPL: Reuters Says iPhone Share Falls in France, Germany

Reuters’s Tarmo Virki this morning writes that Apple’s (AAPL) iPhone has lost share in some countries in Europe as consumers “are keeping a lid on their expenses,” with Google’s (GOOG) Android operating system advancing in smartphone market share.

The data used are from a research firm I’ve not heard of before, Kantar Worldpanel ComTech. That data purports to show the iPhone’s share in France slipped from 29% to 20%, year over year, in the three months ended in November. In Germany, the iPhone dropped to 22% from 27%, the firm believes. The same data shows the iPhone’s share surging in the U.S. and the U.K.

Apple shares today are up $1.20, or 0.3%, at $397.64.
