The Dow ended the week down a hair (0.04%), its first losing week in the last three and the index continued to hover below 13,000, the invisible line that investors have pawed at for the past couple of weeks.
The S&P 500 rose 0.28% on the week to end at 1,369.6.
A glum forecast out of Spain helped put the market in a sour note on Friday, and data this week was mixed, with the ISM falling more than expected and personal spending disappointing investors. Also worrisome is the weakness among small-cap stocks.
